Raising the pendulum stores gravitational potential energy. When released, that energy converts into motion. Gravity repeatedly pulls the weighted bob toward the center, while friction and air resistance gradually remove energy from the system until the pendulum comes to rest.

What exactly is Tempo?
Tempo is a mechanical pendulum play object. Give the weighted bob a gentle push and it swings repeatedly around a precision pivot before gradually returning to rest.
Does Tempo swing forever?
No. The pendulum gradually loses energy through normal friction and air resistance, so the movement naturally becomes smaller until it stops.
Does it require batteries?
No. Tempo is completely mechanical. It requires no battery, charging cable, motor or app.
Can I control how far it swings?
Yes. A smaller starting push creates a shorter swing, while a larger push creates a wider initial arc.
Is Tempo designed only as a toy?
No. Tempo is designed as both an interactive physical object and a modern kinetic desk sculpture.
How is Tempo different from Balance?
